Meet Malcolm, the Founder & CEO of Open Door Technology. With 34 years in the industry, he originally left his Senior Manager role at KPMG’s Information Systems Group to create Open Door Technology. Malcolm loves being creative and using that creativity to benefit customers and his staff. Malcolm’s experience working with various companies as a CPA & documenting business process flows has enabled him to dig into what customers think they want and find opportunities for improvement they might not have considered. Whether it’s finding a competitive advantage or enhancing efficiencies, Malcolm excels at it. Outside of work, Malcolm & his wife are living every grandparent’s dream with all five of their adult children living in the same neighborhood. He’s proud to have raised a family that values & appreciates each other, which is helpful since a number of them work together!

This is our Vice President, Christian! He’s been a part of the Open Door family for over 27 years. He started his extensive technology career implementing ERP systems and quickly became an expert with NAV/Business Central. As our VP, Christian plays a pivotal role in our senior management team, helping the Operations teams deliver successful customer projects and addressing support needs. On a day-to-day basis, he’s our go-to guy for pretty much everything and collaborates with Account Management, Operations, and Finance teams to drive growth & regional expansion. When Christian isn’t strategically planning & navigating the evolving business landscape, you’ll find him enjoying the great outdoors. He loves spending time with his family, camping and fishing whenever he can.

Fun Fact: Daren has been coaching youth & high school sports teams for what feels like forever! As our Product Manager, he brings that same level of enthusiasm & dedication to every product he touches. Daren has worked in the technology industry for 22 years, and we’re lucky he’s spent 20 of those years with us. He blends his deep industry knowledge with a relentless drive for accomplishment, knowing our products help businesses run more smoothly. When he’s not coaching football, hockey, basketball, and soccer, he spends his days in the office managing the product team, vetting new feature suggestions, assisting the Operations & Support teams with product-related questions, and planning what’s next for ODT products built for Business Central.

Don is Open Door’s Professional Services Manager. He has a passion for staying active and an even greater passion for customer satisfaction. For the past 10 years, Don has been a key player in our office, ensuring successful projects through attentive service & effective solutions. His typical workday involves juggling tasks, collaborating with colleagues, and addressing client needs to help them achieve the best outcomes. When he’s not on the golf course or off having fun with his Australian Shepherd, Don enjoys working with his talented & supportive team. He believes their collaborative nature turns challenges into enjoyable & rewarding experiences that lead to innovative solutions & shared successes. His dedication to success makes him the secret sauce that keeps our team cooking!

While Marcel downplays his piano skills and considers himself only an amateur pianist, he is not one to shy away from leading and managing Open Door’s Project Development team. As our Development Services Manager, he provides technical and architectural guidance, researching solutions to address unique business challenges. With 22 years in the tech world and nine of those years at Open Door, Marcel leads a team of brilliant minds crafting innovative software solutions and managing key technology initiatives. He loves collaborating with his international team, leveraging their diverse expertise to deliver exceptional value to our clients. But it’s not all code and strategy! At home, Marcel spends quality time with his close-knit family, traveling and using his creative spark to fuel those piano keys.

Sukun is our marketing mastermind with 10+ years of experience under his belt. He’s been our Senior Marketing Specialist since 2023, leading campaigns and creating diverse content that helps our clients and partner channels. Sukun’s quality marketing content resonates with our audience & showcases our expertise in the industry – his keen marketing eye and video skills bring our stories to life. He thrives on collaborating with leadership to strategically steer our communications! In his free time, Sukun is a prodigy with a camera and a drone. His aerial videography work is featured on national media channels, like Amazon Prime, Leafs TV, CBC, ROM, AGO, Ontario Tourism, and more.

Say hello to Tyson, our Senior Business Development Manager. With over 13 years in the consulting industry and exactly half of that at Open Door, Tyson leads our Business Development initiatives with a strategic and thoughtful approach. His workday involves exploring new geographical markets, spearheading process enhancements, and partnering with existing accounts & new prospects to optimize solutions. What he likes best, though, is helping people navigate the complex world of ERP selection. Leading with honesty & integrity, Tyson never rushes selling technology, comparing the process to a heart transplant – he wants to make sure customers understand what’s important & why. Tyson is the dedicated ERP “surgeon” every client wants in their corner. Beyond his career, Tyson was also an opera singer and an actor in his younger years. He even had a brief stint as a police officer.

Wendy has worked in this industry for an impressive 43 years. During this time, she’s gained deep ERP expertise that we’ve been more than happy to leverage at ODT over the last nine years. As one of our Account Managers, her work mostly involves providing exceptional customer service. Whether that’s finding the perfect resource to address customer needs or addressing those needs herself, she’s more than happy to go the extra mile. Wendy relishes in seeing customers happy that they chose ODT as their software partner. When she’s not driving customer success, you’ll find Wendy at the ball diamond. Her love of the game took her all the way to watch the World Series in Kansas City, Missouri in 2015 where the Royals played the NY Mets.

Terry is our resident Account Manager & Coffee Geek (in the best way). Over the last 15 years, he’s spent eight in the ERP ecosystem – and, luckily for us, two with Open Door. As our Client Success expert, Terry proposes new solutions that improve the effectiveness of business systems. He is often the first point of contact (no pressure Terry!), working to understand your business software needs so he can recommend the perfect solution for your goals. It may sound buzz-wordy, but helping companies harness the power of new technology to boost efficiency, profitability, and visibility actually is his forte. Outside the office, Terry enjoys the outdoors and all things food & drink—BBQing, baking sourdough, exploring new cooking techniques, and even volunteering as a barista in a coffee shop for a charity organization.
